Augmented Reality

Diver-Ciudad Pavillion

Project Designed for A Spanish City Park.

The Concept
The project's concept stems from the idea of diversity, interactivity, and sustainability, which we believe are key concepts to explore in cities. Diversity is manifested in the colours that make up the ensemble. Interactivity is found in the interactions in augmented reality that bring to life the work of sculptor Joaquim Lucarini in 3D. Sustainability is reflected in the materials used and in the form, which evokes a modular forest to be assembled into geodesic structures.
The Shape
The form intends to play with the organic shapes of trees and the geometric elements present in the urban landscape of the square. To achieve this, it starts from the shape of the honeycomb, hexagonal, to create a module with multiple assembly possibilities and generate an environment that provides shade and has visual permeability to not obstruct the view of the Concha and other nearby events. The height of each module is 3.8 meters with a base of 3 meters. The largest diameter of the trunks is 50 centimetres. The fences are made of tensioned fabric with internal lighting for scenic effects during the night.
The Interactions
Interactivity is achieved through Instagram's augmented reality filters. NFC sensors will unlock filters that, when reading markers placed in the pavilion, will display sculptures by Joaquim Lucarini properly digitized and presented in 3D format. In addition to accessing the sculptor's work that adorns the Concha, its integration with social networks will allow the tour of the pavilion not to be limited to physical space, integrating the pavilion beyond the urban landscape, also in cyberspace.
