ILD – Digital Languages Lab
In 2013, I became an assistant professor in the Multi-media Production program at UFPa (Federal University of Pará). At that moment, I realized that I would be starting to teach in a technology-oriented program without the minimum infrastructure, relying solely on 12 computers that were over 10 years old. That year, I recognized the need to seek resources, primarily for purchasing equipment, to establish a laboratory infrastructure that would enable proper teaching and facilitate research projects. Therefore, in 2014, when the Ministry of Solidarity Economy of the Federal Government opened a call for proposals, we submitted a successful proposal. This grant enabled us to undertake a series of activities and produce the 2014 outcomes presented in this portfolio.

Our first action was to equip the laboratory and then invite the community to submit proposals that aligned with the concept of a Solidarity Economy. Given the nature of the laboratory, we gave preference to creative projects; however, it was necessary to organize a series of training and discussion events to nurture innovative ideas.
Forum Belem 2.0
To discover and propose projects for the Lab, in 2014 we started the Fórum Belém 2.0, where we discussed city improvement projects with the participation of the community. There we had the company of professors, technicians and the social actors in the City.
As a recognition, in 2020, we received the "Best Practices in Academia" award, presented by the Institute of Corporate Citizenship, headquartered in São Paulo. Over six years, our initiative has involved 10 scholarship recipients, 5 professors, and 5 technicians, collectively executing a total of 23 projects directly. These projects included 3 Social Impact startups, 2 collaborative media projects, and 2 initiatives aimed at strengthening active collectives in communities, in addition to countless consultations provided to professors, entrepreneurs, and enterprise students.
In conclusion, our program also organized 20 events focused on student and entrepreneur training, directly impacting approximately 600 individuals during its six years of existence.
